JamesW Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Sorry if I didn't post this in the right place, wasn't sure where to go with it. Since I don't have an LHS that carries this stuff I have to buy it online. I'm looking at some Plastruct 1/4 channel (PLS90585) for a project. What size square rod would fit into that channel?
Foxer Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) I measured some Evergreen 1/4" channel and the inside flat is .187". That's a hair less than 3/16" but might fit tightly or with a little sanding. I'm not sure how close Plastruct channel is to this but shouldn't be too far off. The only sizes made by Plastruct and Evergreen that would fit inside a 1/4" channel are 3/16 and 1/8 so 3/16 is most likely your only choice, unless the 1'8 fits your application. Sanding one side on a flat surface or even just a corner to get it to fit flat inside the channel is probably all you have to do to make 3'16" fit. Edited July 6, 2012 by Foxer
