Ryan S. Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I've searched around and nothing has come up, but does anyone make decals to replicate engine-turned metal in 1/24-25 scale? Or does anyone have an idea how to replicate this? Thanks.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Oh YEAH YEAH YEAH !!!!! I really want to know this too !!!!
mademan Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 if i recal correctly someone did it with baremetal or silver/gold leaf, and udes a q-tip and ?toothpaste?? and individually turned every detail. I know a few of the lowrider guys do it with leafing.
drball Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 i have found success using a round ink eraser turned downed in diameter. Next I twisted it slowed on the BMF making an overlapping pattern.
Ryan S. Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 Thanks guys, I was thinking of similar approaches with BMF and a light abrasive and I'll probably give it a try.

I am a subscriber (and have to renew soon too)! What issue was the tutorial in, if you don't mind? I've only been getting the mag for 10 months or so now and don't recall seeing. I'll have to look through the issues that I do have and see if it's in one of them.
