MAGNUM4342 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I just picked one up from a friend across the country and it's mint in the original pack. My question is two-fold. First- was there not a post recently about a resin version? And B- Can anyone tell me the approximate value? I haven't been able to find it on eBay but i'm wondering what you guys have seen it go for. For those of you who don't believe in "collectable value" and so forth, please keep any responses calm cool and well...collected. I understand many of you firmly believe a model unbuilt is a useless model and whatnot, and that's fine. I am however not looking for people to tell me to build it, I am trying to find a rough estimate value for a reason. Thank you.
george 53 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I've seen them go for 12 bucks(about a year ago) to around 50. The Revell Harley bike, that came in that series, I've seen goin for up to 75 bucks! Hth.
Austin T Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 That's a pretty rare find and very desirable,If you want a firm retail value Replicas and Miniatures sells a resin version for 32.00 if I'm not mistaken. On the bay they can go any wheres from 20 to 50 bucks.
zenrat Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 It's your kit. You can do what you like with it (build it ) I got a pair of the non chrome version last year for $AU 16. Built 1 stock and planning on chopping the 2nd. Watch the tyres haven't eaten the styrene.
Mike Kucaba Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I was under the impression that Reps and Miniatures bike was the bike that came as bonus parts in select kits during 1962,and then later the entire bike came with a truck kit. The Revell Harley is indeed the rarer or most desirable, but for a collector who knows, maybe their first bike was the Honda they did. I've had the triumph show bike on the swap tables and couldn't get $50 for it,not even an offer.
MAGNUM4342 Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 Okay guys, response to this thread has been phenomenal...and NOT in the way I wanted. This kit is already earmarked for a special purpose, that I prefer not to go into here. With that said... PLEASE STOP SENDING ME PRIVATE MESSAGE OFFERS. The bike is NOT for sale, NOT for trade, barter or anything else. With that said, I believe I have found what I wanted to know elsewhere. Thanks to all who have taken the time to respond. Even the guy from Australia who suggested I build it.
