'64 Galaxie 500 XL ?

l remember seeing this kit on shelves in the late '80s or early '90s. Does anyone know if it was an XL, & if so, how good is the interior detailed? Are they hard to find today? Thanks, Bart.

It is a 500 XL. Interior isn't great- the rear AND front seats are molded in. They were reissued as part of the Millenium Series and a few years ago by Model King, so they shouldn't be too difficult to track down.

Thanks, Chuck. l'm building a '61 Starliner & found a beautiful example in "Street Rodder" that used this interior. l'm planning to open the doors, so this might not be the best way to go. How about the '66 Galaxie?

'66 Galaxie is a lot better, in terms of interior detail. It isn't very close to a '64 interior, though.

l really had my mind set on the '64, l suppose l could do some slicin' & dicin' on it & come up with a little more detail. Thanks a lot, Chuck. Now to see if l can find one! Bart.

Something else you might want to consider before you go out and buy the '64 is that the interior is actually for a convertible instead of a hardtop.

OK. Definitely no big deal! lf l can find one reasonably, it's going in a kit-bashed custom '61 Starliner. So factory correctness doesn't matter. Thanks a bunch! Bart.
