cavemanx Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 I started working on this one about a month ago. Haven't done much with it. I'm painting it Flamin' Red. I have the interior completed, and I'm working on the underside of the car right now. It is probably my best built so far. First time doing engine wire. your thoughts? this is the most time I've ever spent on the interior of a car. Going to have open headers. rear wheels need modded and the back tires are from a 66 mustang. All comments welcome.
Platerpants Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 looks better than my 69 daytona which was also my first car to recieve wire on the engine
Platerpants Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 you didnt put that those tires are from my parts box. sheesh i gave everyone credit that gave me parts for my dart.
cavemanx Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Does anyone have any suggestions for my build?
mopar01lee Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 (edited) Yeah I'ev been building that car for a wile now .. need to pull it back out.. Edited August 11, 2012 by mopar01lee
cavemanx Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 did a couple things too it. modded the rear wheels to where they would fit, and built the hood scoop, but it still needs sanded down. I really don't want to use this scoop, but I'm not skilled enough to build one, can't afford to buy a resin one, and I doubt anyone would give me one. My brother gave me wheelie bars that I'm not sure I'm using yet.
mopar01lee Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 nice did you make the scoop or buy it Made the scoop myself.. not to happy with it .. proly gonna re do it ...
cavemanx Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 Made the scoop myself.. not to happy with it .. proly gonna re do it ... Idk what you're talking about. that scoop you made looks great. i wouldn't even know how to begin making something like that.

cavemanx Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 if u do funny car keep the wing please YOU CAN'T RULE MY LIFE! Yes I would keep the wing. The nose cone and wing is what makes a daytona a daytona
Platerpants Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) daytonas. guess you were right about the nose atleast. The shelbys both have spoilers but not wings. Edited August 14, 2012 by Platerpants
rustybill1960 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I like what you have done so far! suggestions? You looking at pro touring or street racer? What are you wanting to do to the build? Your interior looks real good man! And as long as your work of that caliber, the rest of the build should be a cake walk! Thank You for sharing I have several yet to do myself, custom, street and stock! Later Russ

I haven't done much with it considering I just got a job, and I'm trying to keep it street legal, but I want it to be a nice drag car too.
Platerpants Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 hey we could race your daytona with my 330 when they are done. im doing the 330 as a street looking dragster
