sjordan2 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Check this out. Moebius "GIANT" insect kit. 1/13 scale. 1/13 scale??? If it's a GIANT insect kit, how can it be 1/13 scale??? http://www.hobbycosf...inmomoscpl.html It's for ages 12 and up. Based on our modern educational system, they'll never figure it out or worry about it.
Junkman Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 1/4 scale Mopar HEMI engine, for one. 1/3 scale Honda 750 engine, for another.
deja-view Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) I have the 1/72 scale "Dora", and it's over 4 feet long and 3+ tall. The 1/35 kit is over 8 feet long. Entex made the 1/3 scale rotary engine for a number of years. Those would be considered "production" kits. Also, Airfix or someone makes a 1/8 scale Sopwith Camel biplane/triplane. That's pretty big, too. OR...if you want to include these monsters: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Giant-Scale-Fleet-Biplane-Plans-and-Templates-/360480619287?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53ee51bb17 Edited August 16, 2012 by deja-view
zenrat Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 ... http://www.ebay.com/...=item53ee51bb17... Plans, templates & instructions - not really a kit. As a kid I always wanted a 1/72 Monogram B36. Mainly because it said on the box "biggest model plane ever!". Would have needed more than a thumb tack to hold the string into my ceiling!
