Steve H. Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I run into this problem every time I get on a board with this format! You would think, living and working is Silicon Valley, that I'd be a little more competent! Anyway, I have several pics I'd like to "Avatar" and would appreciate any help... Thanks
Jairus Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 In your profile section there is an area toward the bottom for adding the Avatar. Follow the steps and you can pull one from a web site or load it direct from your computer. Warning: The size is critical. About 1.25" square at 72dpi. Or 120 x 120 pixels at 6k.
MrObsessive Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Steve, You'll have to resize a pic on your hardrive (120x120 pixels?) and it will place it for you from the hardrive. I have Paintshop Pro with which I can crop and resize pics to fit in the avatar parameters. You'll have to play around a bit with the sizing to where it will be accepted. Once you get the size you want, click on it and put it in the space of where it says "avatar" on your profile, hit "submit" and it should show up everytime you post a message. HTH.......
Billy Kingsley Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 It's much, MUCH easier to use the thumbnail view from your Fotki...that's what I do on all my PHP based boards. EZ Board doesn't care what size your avitar picture is, it puts it into a thumbnail sized square no matter what, but it can make for some odd warpage issues. For instance, the thumbnail view is clearly shown in my avitar. This is the regular size version. Notice the thumbnail also kept the white background, instead of making it clear, like the full size. That's why an animated avitar has to be the right size beforehand.
