My wife was watching a show on building fish tanks, and one that they built was on using a phone booth as a tank. This gave me an idea as a way to display models. An old style phone booth would be an excellent way to display fire trucks, taxis, wreckers, and police cars.

That would be a good idea if the phone booths are not hard to come by or too expensive. Right now I'm using two curio cabinets approximately 26" wide and 18" deep and 78" high and they look good enough to display in the family room as well as our living room. One case is for my built models and the other for my die-cast collection and both have enough room to add at least one more shelf if necessary.

Sounds interesting, but I have a couple of questions...

1) Where do you get an old phone booth?

2) Where do you PUT an old phone booth!?!?!

That would be a question for Clark Kent, no?

I'm not sure a phone booth is quite the right shape for a display unless it was in the center of the room.

I would love to get a 32 ford grill shell from speed way and mount shelves in it. Plexy glass front. I'm sure someone sells one already but it would be fun to build.

You'd have to be careful not to go into the phone booth and get turned into a super hero and then you get to pick which vehicle to ride in for the day.

remember, of all my years as a superhero, phone booth doors open inward!! you would have to modify or reverse the door so it wouldn't crash into those precious builds!! anyways, i keep what few builds i have in boxes, i know what they look like.... thats why they are in boxes!!!
