GMP440 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Was at Target today and saw the 1/24 scale dragsters from 1320. They were priced at $19.99. Lots of nice parts to do some kit bashing to make other dragsters and gassers.
Bowtienutz Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 That's an incredible price. What ones did they have ? are they going to stock the entire line ? Can you get the SKU # I'll see if I can get my local target to order some.
GMP440 Posted August 10, 2007 Author Posted August 10, 2007 I'll try to go back tomorrow to get a sku #. There were only 2 there. Garlits front engine dragster and another dragster of which I forgot the name.
1320wayne Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I stopped by a Target here in Daytona Beach today after seeing this post. They had two front engine dragsters. One Garlits Wynnscharger, red and black car and the other was the Wheeler Dealer car. Very nice and as stated above they have some nice parts that could be used on other builds. A very nice price too.
dragin70s Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I checked out three Targets, and all had the same two. I picked up the Garlits to check them out. After opening, I too think they will be great for parts if nothing else. Gonna build the Garlits and I think I will pick up the Wheeler Dealer for the future. Glad I saw this post, I would never have seen them.
GMP440 Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Here are the sku numbers for those two dragsters sold at Target: Wheeler Dealer 8 4358000116 2 Wynn's Jammer 8 4358000115 5 -both have the series #51240
Bowtienutz Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Thanks I happen to drive by a Target and stopped by I picked them up not bad deal. I think I can handle the assembly work for a big saving.
GMP440 Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 It's a nice change to just only to have to put the wheels on, etc.
dragin70s Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Well, looks like we may have gotten more a "kit' than we all bargained for. Mine, and at least one other person's, came with an engine that has the idler pulley as the distributor, with the wires running from it, and the belt just pushed up against the side of it against the wires. Not a big deal, I don't mind working on it, probably do a bit more detail painting and chenge the oil and fuel lines to a more convincing scale while I'm at it. Love to hear if others were OK, or if they are all like this.
drnitrus Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Can you guys post some pics of what everything looks like?
6bblbird Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 (edited) I picked up a couple of the 1320 dragsters at a New Jersey Target store on Saturday. I will most likely cannibalize them. They are not as nice as the built-ups from 1320. The Garlits decals were horrible compared to the original, the magneto, wiring, and breathers are really goofy as well. However..... they are definitely worth $19.99 just for the wheels, tires and other parts. WF Edited September 5, 2007 by 6bblbird

dragin70s Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Nope. The wires were coming out of the pulley to the left, not a mag or distributor.
JDSRACING Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Hey Guys, I'm a 1/24 Scale Slotcar Manufacture, I just came out with the front engine dragster. I have a vacuform body. The 1320 cars that are sold at target. are great. Here is a picture of one of the car I did. We race these cars, they run E.T. .860's @63.00mphVisit My Website
1320wayne Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Welcome to the forum. I tried the link for your web site and all it gives is a pic. of the dragster. Nice slot car but I would love information on how to get one. Also, you might want to think about putting your full name in your profile to show up on the bottom of each post. It is a forum rule.
Hartness53 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I was wondering if the engines in these kits are pre-built. I collect these cars from 1320 and this would be a great way to save some money on them. Thanks Christian
