I'm starting with a swap meet body and chassis that has no motor, no suspension and various other missing parts. The power plant is a 396 big-block chevy from a revell 1969 Camaro. I know die hard chevy and ford enthusiasts might not like this but the chevy motor-in a foxbody mustang swap is not all that uncommon, so here we go!IMG_8074-vi.jpg

The big- block is mocked up, header clearance is very tight! I had to scratch-build the missing firewall and I tied the unibody together with some down bars.

The raised hood is resin, I painted the Mustang testor's gloss red with high gloss clear. You can see I added the 396 "battle flags" to the fenders as a hint to what's lurking under the hood. You can also see the start of a roll bar.

The wheels are from my parts box, they are 5 lug, similar to a centerline-style wheel. The front tires are a thin drag style, the rear are 10.5 wide street slicks. I got the rear tires at a model show, but I they are available in resin from Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland.

I'm working on this kit as well, the "street slicks" you are using, do the have any type of tread whatsoever? I'm using some NASCAR tires but need some little bit of tread for the street..

Chevy in a Ford?=====Happens all the time.!!

Got the dash painted and installed. The tach is scratch-built, the steering wheel is from the parts box, and I made the column out of evergreen rod.

The door panels were flocked and the parts box seats were painted and installed. The seat belts are craft ribbon, with buckles made out of scrap sheet plastic.

The rear is from a funny car kit and is probably way over-kill for a street car but it works. The control arms and brackets were scratch-built using more evergreen rod and sheet plastic.
