Drag Racing, In Finland?!

Thanks Larry. Yeah I thought that some of you guys might not know that there is Drag Racing in Finland too, that's why I decided to start this thread.

Now I will post some non-Finnish Drag Cars in here that I have seen Racing in Finland.

Let's start with Stockers & Super Stockers.

This D/S Fairlane was driven by Lars Nyberg this year, but I can remember that Lars Boden has been driving it also... These guys come from Sweden.

Then Rick McCann who comes from London, England with this Super Stock Camaro. He does huge wheelstands.

Hans Nilsson with this Super Stock Chevelle. Very nice car, also from Sweden.

Then Björn Bondesson with this B/SA Chevelle. He is from Sweden too.

Per Fageström's '69 Camaro comes from Sweden too.

Daniel Nyling who bought the car that Jarmo Markkanen drove here in Finland for 19 years, another Swedish guy.

And Pelle Andersson's Nova.

Thomas Sundström's Mustang.

Håkan Nordström's Plymouth Cuda. This runs very, very nicely, and he is usually the Number one Qualifier.

Christer Lidberg's Roadrunner.

Uffe Edwardsson's Challenger..

Daniel Nyling drove this Chevy Nova in 2009. Very nice car.

Can't remember the driver for this Fairlane.

Two SS/AH Hemi Barracudas Side By Side. Timo Eronen's Barracuda was posted here earlier, but on the Left Lane you can see Anders Holmberg's Barracuda, if I remember his name correct.

I will post some pictures of this year's Drag Race Events here in Finland. First event is FHRA Drag Race week, and this was the first time when our Chevelle was on the track! First a couple of pics of it.

Joakim Viklund's Mustang...Over 800 Cid Engine makes it running 7,4 ETs.

Samu Kemppainen was testing his Nitro Harley. He ran a couple of 6,7s there.

Jarmo Markkanen had some clutch problems with his Firebird, but anyway he made it to the finals in Stock & Super Stock.

Jukka Mattila's '26 Ford T. He is a member of Rust Racing.

Also Tami Brander was doing Test and Tune runs. He drove 6,15 if I remember correctly.

Timo Mäkelä's AMC Javelin.

And Hannu Tekoniemi's Javelin.
