blackace183 Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 I went to Michaels today and picked up this model for 10 bucks. I thought it was worth it. Ill be posting updates.
The70judgeman Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 I bought one some time ago. That tooling is really showing its age. Lots of flashing and mold lines. How was yours when you opened the box?
blackace183 Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 There was a bit nothing some sand paper and a knife couldnt take care of. Only complaint was i thing more things were chromed then need so it was a bit more work to remove the chrome finish. But all in all its a solid kit.
blackace183 Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 Worked on the engine block today. I strayed from the suggested paint color and did a steel/sivler mix. I stripped most of the chrome parts so the throttle, intake and blower were painted in a high shine (whats on the lablel not my words lol) silver. Heres a picture of the the block minus the manufolds and headers.
blackace183 Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 Last update for the night.......... Painted chassis semi black Painted headers red. I felt lime all my work removing the chrome finish might not be recognized lmfao so the other sprue u see is to do that lol Ill have much much more tomorrow.
blackace183 Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 Finished most of the block. Only need to install belts, alt, and exhaust. Quick picture of it

Skydime Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) Nice score for $10! My only actual gripes with this kit are the lack of a set of black stripes and the design of the center bar of the grille. Edited October 8, 2012 by Skydime

blackace183 Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 i wish the bumpers wernt all chromed out it look so fake an i hate doing all the painting to make it look real.

blackace183 Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 I painted the seats late last night. Did them in just a flat black. I think they look really good for not using flocking. I also finished the block assembly. Here is some quick pics of them

ReptileGuy Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Looks fantastic... I've built this same kit in a lot of different versions about 5 times over the years. I like the kit because it's accurate in most respects and it's just plain fun. I'll be picking up another one soon as I finish one of the other 8 projects I have on the bench. blackace183 Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 LOL. I liked it too but mainly because u can do so much of your own stuff to it.
