  1. another quick update , got some paint on the body , still needs flatting / polishing .
  2. small update , getting some work done on the engine and chassis I had to move the rear axle up on the springs to bring the rear wheels to a better position in the arches , and I made a new prop shaft but other than that , this has been a pretty straight forward build so far .
  3. looks good , this kit is on list of wants as I have the snake to go with it .
  4. Looking good , I have this same kit taking up space on my bench at the moment , it's a great kit , building mine as a barn find , shiny is one thing mine will not be
  5. personally I don't like the first set of rims , but I cant decide between the other two , maybe leaning towards set three .... no set two .... oh I don't know , frankly either set will look great .
  6. @ dave , no but yes but no , maybe open the trunk and put a set slicks in there ( with a bottle of nos maybe ) for those RWYB days down the Pod @ Wayne , that's basically the idea I have for the slant six , but in a late 60s Cuda ( a friend of mine had one a few years back , it was right hand drive , came from Australia I think ) @ Andy , yes .... yes I can
  7. I like the way you think I've mocked up the hemi to make sure it fits under the hood as I don't want to cut the hood or fit any scoops , yep it clears .
  8. I've had a Jo-han 64 Dodge super stock kit in my stash for some time , I always liked the body but realy don't like the chassis that comes with it , I was digging through my stash last night looking for something else and I found a Lindberg Ramchargers 330 SS kit that has no body with it , I don't know why I never thought of it before , surely both cars would have been built on the same or at least similar floors as the bodies are very similar , so after a little bit of trimming it fits perfectly and I have the standard 330 kit aswell so I have a choice of 3 engines that will drop straight in , slant 6 , 383 V8 or hemi .
  9. I have flatted metalic silver ( I think it was BMW titanium silver ) it looked like a passable bare metal .
  10. I am a bit of a mini fan and have owned a few in my time , this being the most recent one I have the 1/12 Tamiya kit I'm going to use to make a replica of it , a replica ( in progress ) of another one I owned made from a Corgi diecast I also have a resin clubman body somewhere in my stash to make a copy of the 1275GT I had as a teenager , I shall be watching this build with intrest .
  11. quick update , body's painted , still got some work to do on the hood before paint , went with a metallic charcoal in the end , i liked the red interior against the charcoal so some of it will be red .
  12. top half of a 67 Camaro grafted onto the bottom half of the Buick would probably give you something like the basic shape , lots of scratch building required though .
  13. I don't know what those decals are from but if you're looking for general sponsor type decals have a look for Slixx decals sheets I have a few sheets of these drag decals and they're spot on
  14. " cars always look good in primer because they still have potential " that is sooooo true . the only thing I have near the bench at the moment that has primer on it is this ...
  15. worth it .... hell yeah , cost at least 3 times that here in the UK .
  16. It's good to see some of these wrecks getting a new lease of life , I like to do one from time to time , in some ways it's more rewarding than building something from a new kit , in fact I've been working on one today , a few years ago a friend of mine gave me two models he built , probably in the 80s the Buick is complete , the Camaro is missing its hood and both front wheels have snapped off . both are pretty rough and judging from the amount of glue he used , he didn't want them to fall apart any time soon , luckily he had not painted either body although the amount of paint on the interior , engine and chassis make up for that . I've been doing some work on the Camaro today , it's a Monogram kit from the late 70s , it has a twin turbo ( 302 I think ) small block which I liked , and a jacked up rear end , side pipes and odd wheels which I didn't like so I've got it pretty much pulled apart , cleaned up the body a bit , the side pipes have gone in the parts bin so I will have to make a exhaust system for it , I had another pair of front wheels n tyres in the parts bin so they're going on the now lowered rear , and I brought another incomplete gluebomb cheap off ebay a while ago for the hood , dunno what colour I'm going with yet , I'm thinking probably black .
  17. Thanks for the info guys , it looks like I will have to go with the 2.8 to get something like the right block and go from there .
  18. thanks Jeff I'll see if I can find some pics of those and see if they look anything like what I need . I think this smaller engine was only used in 92 Camaro's , after that they used a larger capacity one , that's what I've been told anyway , as I've not seen the later/larger engine I don't know if it is the same externally as mine .
  19. can anyone suggest a kit that has a suitable 3.2 or 3.4 litre V6 chevy engine in 1/25 scale , I want to build a replica of my 92 Camaro , I have a part built Revell Z28 kit I brought off ebay , other than the engine and exhaust system once I remove the moulded in Z28 badges from it it's a dead ringer for mine ( it's even moulded in black ) .
  20. can I join this with a rebuild of a Ferrari F40 I originally built back in the late 80's ?
  21. I shall be watching this to see how you go with it , I have a similar project using a 69 Charger I started a while ago but i kinda lost my way with it , it now sits in a box gathering dust .
  22. Hi cobraman , yeah I hope so Hi Doobie , I live near Holbeach so not too far from you , leaving it fenderless and is the plan , I,ve dropped the body over the frame so the space under the hood is a little limited and I don't want to be cutting the hood , plan is to build it as a simple no frills rod you could use everyday so I may go for something modern and reliable . I was thinking of putting a wanted add on here for a chassis and possibly a hood then I could build another from the parts I have but i've not seen too many UK members here on my travels .
  23. this will be my first wip on this forum , its a 34 Ford 5 window rod , a while ago someone gave me 3 very incomplete AMT kits , 2 x 34 street rods and a 2door sedan , between the three there is enough parts to build one roller . gonna have to find a engine for it , not sure what I'm going to use yet got see what will fit under the hood . here's a quick mockup pic going to keep it pretty simple , I quite like the suspention set up on it , seemed a shame to cover it up with fenders .
  24. you put your door hinges on the opposite way round to how I do it , I have the pivot on the door , looks more realistic when the doors are open .
