SuperStockAndy Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Just curious as to what people have done for functioning parts (Hood hinges, latches, wipers, etc.). I'm building an AMT '70 Camaro and I'm trying to detail it to the levels of what MrObsessive would do (OK, probably not gonna happen, but I'll try anyway). An idea I had was functional windshield washer squirters that used a balloon in the trunk-similar to that of how 1:1 old VW Bug washers worked. So, what functioning parts have people put on their models?
Chas SCR Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 If I was you I would start out small like doing the chassis parts on this first model to under stand how to get stuff to work and be free and able to be in scale. get the stuff to start with from R&B Motion and work with that, then go to the hinges and such as closer to getting them to look right and work are two diffrent things and is a real challange.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 (edited) Man, I like the idea of functioning windshield washer squirters. Just make sure you use the right color fluid, or you'll get in all kinds of trouble. Here's a functional Offenhauser engine in 1/4 scale for inspiration. Edited October 18, 2012 by Ace-Garageguy
