Chad Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Looks good. I did the exact same thing with ALL of my rm .kws . I have 0 stock kits from the snap tite series trucks. Chad
mackinac359 Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 The longer wheelbase is much nicer looking. Tim
RocketJockey87 Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 thanks tim...this is my first attempt of doing something other then the kit calls for on these trucks...i grew up around trucking so all the cool stuff i wanted back then i can now make
RocketJockey87 Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 just a small teaser pic...all thats left it touch up on the truck...and of course still trying to track down 90 degree elbows so i can get the pipes on it...
Tony-442 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I've been having the same problem with one of my builds. I'm still searching for the 90 degree elbows too. I have the pipes all built and polished up, out of aluminum.... Looks good!!
Truck parts Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Sweet looking truck I like the longer look.
camaro68 Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I saw in another post someone useed plastic coat hanger ?
RocketJockey87 Posted October 27, 2012 Author Posted October 27, 2012 I saw in another post someone useed plastic coat hanger ? i cant belive i didnt thinkg about that...thanks
Burwell555 Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I used McDonald's straws on a few of my builds once. I believe they are 7" scale if memory serves correctly. Then wrap with the cheap chrome rocker trim you get at auto zone. Honestly you really can't see the seam where the chrome overlaps on the wrap around!
RocketJockey87 Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) well today i decided to make a drastic change...i wanted my freightliner rear supsension back...so what else to do but make a neat old wrecker...more is to come this is just with the 2 peices combined...going to make toolboxes etc Edited November 5, 2012 by suzuki_cafe_racer
RocketJockey87 Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 yes this was the $20 wal mart one
Fat Brian Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 was this the revell one? I have been thinking about getting this one for project parts. I found out the hard way the revell peterbilt has crummy frame . The frames in the both snap kits are not the greatest out there but still look good when built and can be the start of a good custom with an enclosed frame.
RocketJockey87 Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 well i repainted my coe...so while its drying i modified the wrecker a bit,,,makin it more of a service truck
clayton Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Got a ??? how does one remove the tiers from the rack?
txdieseldog Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Isn't it a winch boom? Utilize the equipment. It will pop em outta there.
