Scuderia Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 .........hm. I REALLY was trying to keep the rest of the car SVO... But that's tempting. I have the Hertz kit in the corner after all.
martinfan5 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 As JC would say, more power!!, words to live by, is the hertz one supercharged?, I dont remember
Scuderia Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 It sure isn't just a warm-air intake and brace similar to the bullitt kit.
IMSANUT Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Can I suggest the Taurus SHO motor instead? That would look cool in the engine bay I think.

IMSANUT Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I mention it, cause I have one I'd trade for the SVO motor.....

Scuderia Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 As mentioned earlier, I would be using the 87 T.C. engine and here's some progress. Things been slow on this, and there isn't much special on this car but i'll keep on since i started this after all lol. since the engine halves were so small, being a 4-Cyl. i painted the halves via brush. trans is testors gunmetal, looks black in photos often esp. on my phone. halves are ready for a distributor via radio shack 30g wrap wire.
martinfan5 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Looking good, the oil filter looks like you could spin it right off and do an oil change
Scuderia Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 thanks johnny , and yeah i tried to make it pop against the red of the block..
Scuderia Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 More going engine-wise got the wiring done and the cover on and painted. engine is mounted to the chassis.
Scuderia Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 thanks jon. had to sand and carve the oil pan, as well as trim the driveshaft mount. The 87TC engine and the 85SVO engine were a lil different measurement-wise.
martinfan5 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) Not surprised really, but does not sounds like it was a lot of work to make it fit though Edited November 19, 2012 by martinfan5
Scuderia Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 naw just a few min. here and there with the knife and an emery board.
Scuderia Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 No photographical updates really, as i spent the last two hours trying to get the hood to clear. I trimmed the bottom of the intercooler and even heated it up and twisted it so the end closest to the firewall wouldn't sit up as high. All that just to find out that the culprit were the two posts on the chassis that the stock SVO engine sit into. Pulled the engine out, clipped off the posts n got the engine glued flat to the chassis now so it all sits even at an appropriate height. Also the air cleaner assembly is a no-go in this engine bay and i'm considering other options.
Abell82 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Started one of these a few years back, when the SVO's were only made in the red plastic and the '93 Cobras were new and plentiful. Messed up the interior and never finished it though... Someday I'll finish this one. Anyway, I digress, maybe yours just needs a different hood?
Scuderia Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Quite-possibly yeah. I also don't like the size of the turbo. I dunno if I want to get a resin piece, or make one with solder, or say F it and do a motor swap. I'm in a mental rut with this one at the moment. Yours is lookin' good should finish it off one day. If you need Fox interior parts let me know i have spares.
