crazyrichard Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 That tow truck is wicked! I'd love to have that one in my display case! thnx , the build thread is somewhere here also ( i build that recently out of 2 kits)
crazyrichard Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) painted the shifterknob and steering wheel while they where inside lol made the steering wheel brown wood like and chrome.. the knob started with a base of chrome , then a light wash with brown and orange clear from tamiya over that , almost looks like polished walnut wood did some general clean ups after the salt weathering Edited November 19, 2012 by crazyrichard

crazyrichard Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 put a superthin coat of primer on the truck cab .. and well its was smooth as .... without any bondo or ... used a left over amt pick up interiour and cut that up to use the floor and tunnel .. put the truck kits bench on there those fake pedals , i just left them you cant see them after fitting everything together
John Teresi Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Richard........love what you are doing..........ABSOLUTELY AWESOME man.
crazyrichard Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 tried a wrench on the bench (rime ) printed some vintage mag covers boneville racer / cover made it thicker with a sheel of plastic super close up and made one for the pick up as well
JasonFL Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Excellent work rich as always. Can't wait to see that truck come together. That thing already looks mean. Love the little details of the wrench and magazines. Keep it gong, can't wait to see more.
crazyrichard Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 thnx ! tbh i had some issues with the truck when i was modifying the chassis it went alright .. then i wanted to make custom wheels and after finishing i realised they didnt look like what i expected and well when i tryed to get them off all the steering linkage and the part that makes the hub steer broke off .. so now à will have to either scratch some new stuff of use something from a cheap kit i hope to find to be cointinued
relaxednoma Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 love the overall look of this combo. excellent work. shame about the the recent issue ^
H.A.K Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I think those ft tire are to fat on that racer. Needs to be skinny ft tires. But all eles looks great. Your kickin @$$.
crazyrichard Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 thnx guys and @ hak , yes but tbh i didnt have the right tyres in the parts box ..i have one nice set but thats for a future build that racer is actually build with a bunch of scrap parts i had onlt a loose body with busted roof and just started building this to put on the truck so i just had to wing it a bit with what i had and could come up with using some spare parts ...
H.A.K Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Oh hell then thats a great build.......All of it looks good.
crazyrichard Posted December 1, 2012 Author Posted December 1, 2012 (edited) thnx atm i'm here > (loose set up) changed the rims into these > gave the chrome a wash and some smoke and added ford hub caps ... also altered some white walls to fit and shortened it , i want to build a trailer so 2 cars can be hauled Edited December 1, 2012 by crazyrichard

crazyrichard Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 thnx put some primer on it and gave the cab a second coat
crazyrichard Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 thnx Ira !! one small step further > needs a tiny bit of bondo on the sides of the chassis and the sides of the plate (where the trailer hools in > what do you guys call that over there ?????) i'm in doubt on the chassis color , either metal grey or black ....
