shafer
must of you know I want to build a petty car for each year 1949 -now that the pettys have fielded a car. I thought it would be easier for me to post my builds on one thread instead of starting a new thread each time I build a car. so this is my thread here is what I have so far, with more soon to be added. check back from time to time and I will add to the collection These will be subcatorized by year. btw - i am always looking new petty builds pm me if you have any kits, gluebombs, diecast, decals, ect you would like to get rid of, i promise i will give it a good home. just let me know what you need for any items that are useable. hooterville75
The old AMT Indy kits are a very nice kit to put together. The turbo is hard to get positioned perfectly. Has to be perfect or the finished engine assembly wont fit properly. You can usually snag one of the Indy kits off Ebay for around $15 shipped to your door. Monogram has made a few Indy kits as well but I dont like them as much as the AMT kits. There is a AMT kit of Mario Andretti in the Newman Haas car, and a Michael Andretti kit in the Kmart car. I have an extra Newman Haas Indy car that Andretti ran back in the day made by I believe without looking in the stash is a AMT kit. I would be more then happy to talk with you in regards to sending this kit to you so you can make the John Andretti model you have on your wish list.
