GMP440 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 The taillights are chromed. Instead of just brushing turn signal red over the lense part I was thinking about triming and fitting clear red thin plastic instead. The clear plastic I was thinking about using are those that are used for file tabs that slide on. Anyone ever do this? Thanks. George Petrillo
Rick44 Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Ehr, let me see....hog out the castings to leave just the framework, back it up with colored acetate. That looks pretty good....except the acetate is now "backless" and doesn't reflect. Aha ... why not back it up with some sheet stock covered with Bare Metal Foil? That's better! Now it looks like the lens areas were painted with Tamiya clear red, but the prismatic effect has disappeared.
