I am building my first big truck and I am getting ready to paint the box.... On the parts tree there are two long thin pieces that are the lenth of the box and about an inch wide (part #137), there are also two shorter pieces that aren't quite the width of the box and about 1/2 inch wide (also part #137). Anyone know what these 4 pieces are used for ?? I can't find them on the instruction sheet anywhere and can't figure out where they could or should go.... Any help would be greatly appreciated on this. Thank-you...

Those are left over from the original version of the kit when it had full-length Ryder Rental decals. Those are for mounting the decals to the side of the box.

The shorter piece was for mounting the RYDER text decal.

Really? That's what those are for? I was wondering the same thing; just never thought to ask. Where exactly do they go? I'm building the Short Hauler as a Ryder truck. Do I need those parts? What color should they be?

They were for the 1971 style Ryder graphics with a full length horizontal red/white/black stripe.

The color would be sort of a lemon yellow.

That's the one I'm doing. Looks like one goes on the rear door, too.

I'm using the Tamiya Yellow. That's pretty bright yellow. Makes your eyes hurt!
