Mr mopar Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Hi can someone tell me how to do this ? Thanks Doug.
Ramfins59 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Gently bend it around a curved item close to the curvature of the stack.like a paint brush handle or the stack itself.
southpier Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 or put it on a piece of cardboard and roll it like dough, using progressively smaller rollers. http://ww2-model-airplanes.wfh4l.com/1854/photo-etch-and-its-application/ http://italianhorses.net/Tutorials/Photoetch/pe.htm http://www.scalemodelguide.com/construction/techniques/photo-etched-parts-models/
Pete J. Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I don't use this very often, but when I do it is almost indispensable. http://thesmallshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=12
my80malibu Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) Heat it first then use a dowel rod and bend around that. I have that same tool from the small shop that Pete has in the link above this post its exactly for that purpose Edited December 13, 2012 by my80malibu
Mr mopar Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 I wonder if this would work? http://www.micromark.com/bending-machine,7739.html
southpier Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 that looks like a great tool and one which would probably get pressed into service more and more as the user gets familiar with it. if you do make the investment, please do a little write up (and we love pictures!) on how it really works and any suggestions you might have to make it a justifiable expense. thanks
Pete J. Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 The Micro Mark tool is limited to the size of the roller or larger. The one from The Small Shop can roll as small at 1/8" in diameter with all the rollers it has.
Mr mopar Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 looking at micro mark it has adjustabily . i think i'm going to order this one.
