LDO Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I just traded for 2 stepside glue bombs. Just wondering if A fleetside bed was ever made.
Casey Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Never, but RMR offers one (maybe two, the second with duallie fenders) in resin. MPC offered the 1/16 "Action Snaps" '73-'86 Chevy Fleetside shortbed in the snowplow version (the other had a dump bed), but they appear very toylike from what I've seen.
Casey Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 (edited) Not sure if this is what RMR based its beds upon or not, but the first five images below come from a recently completed eBay listing with some good images of the 1/16 MPC Fun Dimensions Chevy Fleetside Pickup "Construct-A-Truck" kit. As far as I can tell, they appear to be the same parts found in the 1/16 MPC "Action Snaps" series Chevy Pickup kit(s) which debuted in 1981: I believe these kits are what became of the 1/16 MPC Apache Stepside "ghost" kit, which was shown in the 1978 MPC Catalog, but was never released. Perhaps so much design work was already competed that MPC decided to make something out of it, after hearing of Revell's 1/16 Chevy Stepside kit which was set to debut in 1978?: Edited January 20, 2022 by Casey
Mike C. Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 That fire truck combo Bed would be nice although a little warped. Also, the rear wheel openings look to my eye like they could stand to be forward slightly. This is a child's toy but they still got the placement of the front side marker lights more accurately positioned than the Revell. I also prefer the style side but the step side has kind of grown on me with the Revell. Besides, you get to detail that nice oak bed floor.
1972coronet Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 I would love to see Round2 reissue that Pushin' Pickup . With a little bit of work, they could look awesome!
