Draggon Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Tim Boyd suggested I post this. I followed his method of chopping a 49 Merc way back when in Street Rodder mag. This might be 35 years ago. Its been seen here before, but I'd like Tim to see his handiwork as I presented it. The profile of the chop as he instructed, is gorgeous. His Merc had B-pillars, but I chose to make it a hardtop. All the work you see is done with a razor saw, tube glue, and Testors putty. Yes Virginia, testors putty does eventually stop shrinking and dry. If you look close you will see the A-pillar is cracked. I dropped the darn thing while taking pics. NO big deal, with today's technology its an easy fix!
