Len Geisler Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I have been thinking about building a "Pro Touring" C2 Vette. Other than the Accurate Minatures GS kits, was there ever a C2 with a seperate chassis??? If not I will end up using the AM kit, but at this point I'd like something alittle more realistic and not a full blown race car on the streets.... Thanks in advance..... .............building again and it is great.......
ismaelg Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Hi Len, The Revell '67 Vettes both coupe and conv can be an option. They are not chassis only but the molded floors and spare tire carrier can easily be removed. However, the Corvette chassis was basically the same from 1963 to 1982, with only minor changes for mounts, brackets etc. That means you can check other options like MPC shark era Vettes. Im' not sure but I think they had separate chassis as well. I can't check from here but I'll look in my stash later on. Hope this helps. Thanks,

robertw Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Len, Did a check through a number of kits from the C2 & C3 era and they all have the chassis/floorboards as one unit. As Ismael suggested the best relacement would be the Revell '67 kits but you might also look at the Revell '68/'69 Vette. While it would also require the removal of floor boards and spare tire carrier it has nice detail. For a stand alone chassis I think your only option would be the GS kits. I have a couple of the recommended pieces in my spares box so if you go with one of them let me know and I should be able to help. Rob W
MonoPed Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 The GS chassis is a full race chassis that shares virtually nothing wit hthe production C2/C-3 chassis.
