Andy Wyatt Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Started a Revell '70 Buick GSX and I noticed on the intake it is stamped "Firing Order...." along with the numbers (don't ask me the order, I don't care and it's way too small for my tired eyes to make out). What I want to know is that really stamped on the 1:1 intake or is it some Chinaman at Revell thinking he's funny? I'll probably leave it on regardless, until I'm done plumbing and wiring and putting the big air cleaner on you won't see it anyway...I'm just curious. Thanks!
patrol52 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 The firing order is 18436572 just like most every other GM V-8. Does anybody know where to find the 430 valve covers?
patrol52 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I've got a 65 Riviera that may get more go with the 430. From what I've heard, Georgia State Police 5.0 Mustangs top out at 150 mph. The 65 Riviera with a 430 didn't have that annoying speed limiter!
patrol52 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Yeah, this Riv was a bit of a hot rod. It apparently looked pretty stock, but had the 430 under the hood. I've always wanted one, but will probably never get one, so I was going to build the model with the 430 (455) from a GSX. Then I will have a hail-head for a hot rod of some sort (that supercharger setup should look cool on an open engine bay!)
Andy Wyatt Posted September 26, 2007 Author Posted September 26, 2007 what do the Chinese have to do with this This is the latest reissue of the kit...stamped right on the bottom of the chassis Made In China
mynoosha Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 To beat this horse thoroughly, guys, none of those letters & numbers are stamped into intakes; they're cast!

Thanks! original cast iron intakes had a raised casting w/ firing order-- i dont think aftermarket aluminum intakes shared this feature
