Hey guys,

I moved into my new house this weekend and while my new work area isn't completely set up yet, the ideas started flowing so I broke out the crazy modeller pe saws and started cutting, and ended up with this....

take one Fujimi enthusiast 73 Carrera RS and mix it with a leftover cab from Revell Model A ford pickup and this is what you get. This is very early in the build but its going to be Porsche motored, torsion bar suspension front and rear(based off the Carrera parts) cam actuated shocks, and Porsche racing buckets/brakes/headlights and maybe wheels. This may get built along side a more normal Porsche 911 hot rod I wanna build(67 911 R slightly modernized) just to show that the term hot rod has many meanings..lol

Very Cool! I am working on a Revell T-Bone from the 70s (VW powered C-cab pickup with a renault style shovel nose) and am putting in a 911 GT1 drivetrain!

Oh now I wanna see that....(hmm remembers that I have a tamiya gt1 kit too, lol).

I'm currently looking for some reference material from 914s on how the 911 engine goes into one(mid engine layout v/s rear) but for simplicity's sake and uniqueness I'll more than likely stick with the standard layout. Thanks for the compliments Martin and Izzy, I'll keep you guys updated.

Wasn't sure if you had seen these, but a guy I know just finished this truck with the same basic idea....

I saw that just the other day after a search on the HAMB..I've been thinking of a Porsche powered A truck for a while and had searched up there over the last few months but I didn't find much. After seeing that the other day it helped jump start me...His truck looks good, but I'm going to go after a slightly different style with this one.

Thanks for the links btw...never hurts to have lots o' reference material.

EDIT: BIG thanks for the build up pics...I'd only found the finished truck pics before, thanks!!

Great idea. I can see the tail gate having a hole in the middle of it for the fan. Maybe an idea, I was working on a 32 based on a sketch I did a while ago (the 80's when pop up, er out headlights were "in"), I was going to use 928 style head lights that would fold back (in stead of down) & still be visable. Keep us posted.

No problem, let me know if you need any others and I'll see if I can get them for you.
