kk916 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I'm looking for an early 60's style x Frame for my 1959 El Camino Project. Does anyone know of one that didn't come attached to the floor boards? -kk
Olle F Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Don't know for sure, but I believe that Revell's new '58 Impala will have what you're looking for.
patrol52 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 64 Impala by Revell for sure. I'm not sure about their other Impalas in the lowrider and amigo-pack series. My box looks like this. Also the 66 Riviera has an un-attached frame, I believe, but the rear part is probably wrong for an el-camino.
MrObsessive Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Revell's current '63 Impala kit has a separate frame also in case you can't find the '64.

kk916 Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 Wow and here I figured they were all the same and connected to the floor pans. Thanks guys. Guess I just got luck with the El Camino
kk916 Posted October 5, 2007 Author Posted October 5, 2007 On a related note, do any of these have the "factory" suspension? the El Camino kit has these stupid adjustable blocks for the front suspension, no offense to anyone who has built them with this but I think they look junky.

The '63-'64 Revell kits mentioned above have stock suspensions..............in fact all the other kits save for the '59 Elky you're doing has stock suspensions. I know what you mean about those "blocks".............I kinda hate those too!
Canada Jeff Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Trumpeter's '60 Pontiac kit has a very nice frame, with very detailed suspension. That might work for you too, but that kit is a bit more expensive than the other alternatives listed, just for robbing parts out of.
