Guest Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 In light of the recent reissue of this kit, this is my build from the last issue, done shortly after it was issued. http://www.mynetimages.com'> http://www.mynetimages.com'> http://www.mynetimages.com'> http://www.mynetimages.com'> http://www.mynetimages.com'> http://www.mynetimages.com'> http://www.mynetimages.com'>
GeeBee Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Very nice build, what was it like to put together ? I'm tempted to add one to the stash .....
slusher Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 A very nice looking build Lee. Great paint and foil. those kits flew off the shelf and yours is the first one l have seen posted. thanks..
Guest Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 This is actually the release from about 10 years ago or so. It built up just fine. The one thing I did was to cut the front pan from the chassis and mold it into the rest of the body. If you do not, you have a unrealistic seam.
surfjunke Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Very nice clean build. I have always liked this kit. Will have to grab one of the reissues.
cortinanut Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Very nice! I did the same thing with the front pan when I built this one recently--it seemed the only reasonable solution to that problem. Nice work with the paint on those wheels!
realgone58 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Very nice build. Thanks for mentioning the front pan issue.
Alan Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Looks good, I always did like these little mini Corvette Buicks lol
Guest Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Thanks again, and glad to help make them more realistic. Sure would like to see a new tool with a better chassis and interior. The could keep this body, it's fine, just tool up some interior parts, and a new chassis.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Great build!!! This car in person is unbeliveable tiny, looks like a real baby Corvette. I know a guy that removed the stock engine from one, and installed a 250 Chevy six into it. gearbox was from a Dodge Dart, and rear end was from a Ford Maverick, with a shortened housing to fit the Opel. That thing was a widow maker...
Shardik Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 I learned to drive in one of these. I've got the reissue on order and will paint it canary yellow with black interior to match that one. I hope I can do as nice a job on mine as you did on this one
