Bought a version of this, kind of disappointed, seems to be 1/32 scale, am I correct on this? Terrible that they did'nt print this on the box.

When it comes to scale the fine folks at Polar Lights/Round2 tend to play fast and loose with the rulers (get it? :D ). They also have thier Batcycle listed as 1/25th when it's much closer to 1/20th. They say that the kit, both snap and glue versions, are 1/25th scale but the body is visually about 1/32nd scale as does the interior, but the wheel tire combo is the diameter of 1/20th kits. This gives it a slight donk look due to it's unusually large tires and wheels. With a kit like this I usually relegate to the easy-build slump-buster section of the shelf. It's an easy kit to put together (snap or glue) and can be really fun if you let it. You just have to be able to let go everything you know about scale young padawan. Unlearn what you have learned. ;)

Which version do you have? Glue or snap?

Also, due to this being base on a Cartoon, it may be a little harder to determine actual size.

Look at P-L's Scooby Doo Mystery Machine Van & the Jetson's Air car.

Both of those are scaled to the figures included and are larger than 1/24. More likely 1/20-1/16.

Homer Simpson's Car too.

I hadn't considered the 'cartoon' aspect of it Dan but you're right. That's a hard wild card to adjust to. I do think of all the cartoon vehicles they've modeled the Mach 5 is their best attempt at making it "real". Funny thing is I just realised I have a snap AND a glue on my shelf and yet I chose a 1970 Roadrunner kit as a slumpbuster.

I have the Snap of it too. Would like to see the difference in the Glue kit.

Bet it is a lot like the 66 TV Batmobile, Most of the basic parts are identical between versions.

Both kits are exactly the same size. The snap version has the underwater windshield and I think the auto Jacks. the glue version has an incorrectly opening trunk, but the aqua dome, auto jacks, and saw blades. All static. I want to see someone build one with working jacks! :D

Thanks for all the input, but if a model company can design a car, especially from a cartoon, it is not hard to up its scale.

I would hope that someone would be smart enough to be able to figure out some relevance between a real race car and fiction.

I mean really, base it on an old LeMans type car.
