Silver Foxx Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Great work on this , it is looking real nice.
brett Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 thanks guys heres where it was at last Wednesday , just another mockup, seems to be sitting a lot higher now .grrrrrr wheelbase looks off to me as well but none of that was touched
TedsModeling Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I like the color choice of the carpets. Black would have been too dark, another color would be conflicting and you have plenty of yellow already! What are you going to use for the Nav/CD panel?
AzTom Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Looks great! I have one of these on my bucket list as well. I picked up one at a show awhile back that someone started. I saw this one a BJ in 2009.
Chas SCR Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I know you are past a main point on this build but if you ever do another one the easy way of doing the wheels is to cut the rear fenders off and then turn them and build the rear fender area back down as this will help the flow of the body and also keeps the wheel openings to the right size with out cutting into them. I built a car back in 2009 called "Concept 36" and that was when I learn how to do this as they did it on the real car to help the body flow.
brett Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 thanks guys ,not quite as low as I would have liked it, to change it would require an almost total rebuild of the frame and interior. Not gonna happen at this stage (maybe in a couple years time) . I think the issue causing the issues is the automatic gearbox hitting on the floor just behind the firewall as the whole engine seems to sit a bit to the right of the car. Oh well, cant tell with the hood on
brett Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Cannot for the life of me get the graphics I wanted to work out so went with the kit ones , got a couple little things to do ie: exhaust and door handles, wipers (maybe), then It'll be done for now.
dougp Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 It's still a unique looker and I like what you did with the headlights.
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I missed this one earlier. Nice job on the conversion.
