dee Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 (edited) bought this at the cincy oh show last saturday. frame was already shortened and it was missing a few things so i thought i would make a spreader out of it.rear tires are out of a el camino monster truck and the fronts are resin bill signs floats. gonna take my camera to work and swing by southern states and see if they will let me get a few pictures and measurements off their fertilizer truck. open for any ideas and suggestions with this one. thanks for looking. added a few more pics. trimmed the front fenders to clear tires, got the bed coming along pretty good. still needs a few more bits added before i paint it. thinking im going to leave the cab yellow and the bed white. will add some type of lettering when i figure out something . still a ways to go but making a little progress. thanks for looking. any hints or ideas welcome. Mopar - D Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I agree that would make for a good fertilizer truck and being able to get your own pictures and measurements would be a plus. I will looking for your progress.
doogie7046 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 That is a great idea for that louisville. You may want to consider using some 1/32 scale monster truck tires for the front, will look similar to the pic above.
cdntrucking Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 I agree, you need ground clearance on that front axle
dee Posted April 19, 2013 Author Posted April 19, 2013 thanks for the imput guys, i agree the front end needs to be lifted a bit and i think i will stay with the floats on the front as i saw one similar and i dont have any 1/32 scale tires to use on the front. trying to build it with parts i have on hand. will post more pics as get further along.
Guest Johnny Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) We had a Ford "Airship"(dry spreader) like that at Simplot Soil Builders when I worked out of their Ault Co. office. Used it for dry fertilizer application and we also planted wheat and rye fields with it! The liquid application trucks were all Internationals. I have one of those that I was planning on using for that but couldn't find the right tires. Ours had a smaller front tires that looked like the Terra's on the back! Edited April 20, 2013 by Johnny
