Anyone build there own mini lathe?

that's pretty cool ,,,,,, but if anyone is thinking of a Harbor Freight mini lathe , for the money there great , with a little time doing a good set up , I took off all the silly safety junk , took apart the carriage and lapped the ways , I didn't have lapping compound , used toothpaste and it worked great , , thinking maybe tomorrow I may paint it , I can't stand the red

So, Anne...now that you have one, tell us please...how IS the runout on the chuck-shaft bearings ?? That's the only thing that REALLY matters, as long as the tool-holder is stable when locked.
