W-409 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I have to say also that the wires are...Strange. It would have looked better if it was built without those wires, the best way is (I think) to build a couple of Models straight out of the box before starting to add details or make modifications. This is just a tip, to help you out. I am no expert either. I don't know what age you are, but I have to say that maybe one of the best quotes ever goes "Every Model Built By A Youngster Is A Great Model". I don't know who said it, but that is how I think also. You said you were more interested in Paint Work. That's great, paint job is in my opinion maybe the most critical thing in Model Building, of course in a side of overall finishing and parts fit. Your paint looks very good from the pictures. Just a minor tip to make it even better next time: Sand the Mold lines before painting (Now there's one for example on the Trunk Lid). And this is just an advice to help you out, I'm not trying to be a "Nitpicker" or anything...Just trying to help you out, just like other people have helped me during the years and that's maybe the most important thing why my Modeling Skills have improved. GREAT job for the First Build, congrats!
Raskoraz Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Guys, an argument here is pointless. This model is miles better than my stuff at that age. Patrick as you are a new modeler, I'd like to invite you to check out the link in my signature line called "Walk then Run". It was a thread I had written a couple years ago offering advice to new builders. It was very well recieved by builders of all ages and skill levels What age?
Car Man Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 No, both take plenty. Look at these, and tell me they do not take skill. You are just showing off your work anyway lets just put the argument to the side and get on with Patrick's work
Dragfreak Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) I should have made this clearer from the beginning: the engine is too small to replicate a 1:1 engine completely. I am more interested in the sanding and painting applications, because to me that takes a little more skill than wiring a tiny engine that is incapable of working. I think you're all being a too critical. Instead of wiring a 1:25 scale engine, why don't you wire a 1:1 engine? That takes a little more skill no? Your Nova looks good, nice work. Look I didn't mean to offend you or anything I was just trying to give you advice to make your model look better. On your next build I wont post a single suggestion, ill let you build it to your taste and let life go on. regards, Dragfreak Edited May 8, 2013 by Dragfreak
Raskoraz Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 I appreciate the advice. Just not so much when it's repetitive. On my next build I'm going to try to use some scale wire. I hope to hear more from you all.

Like a procharger bracket
DSHWoodworks Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I like the color combo. Its cool to see "out of the box" color combos. I'm building a Nova myself right now but it is based on a 1:1 that my Grandma had when I was a kid. Keep building and have fun!!!! What is your next build going to be?
