chevyfever2009 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Is there anything you can use around the house to remove excess glue with out hurting the model
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Model glue is a solvent that penetrates and dissolves polystyrene plastic...at least the toxic variety is. It won't just come off because it's etched itself into the surface of the model.
chevyfever2009 Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 Its dried a yellowish color dnt think its model car glue
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 The only "yellowish" glue I've encountered on a gluebomb appeared to be contact cement, and the EasyOff oven cleaner I used to strip the paint also took off the yellow glue.
chevyfever2009 Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Hos long do u let it set on the model for How
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 The one i had with yellow stuff on it took a couple or three applications of oven cleaner, each allowed to soak for at least a couple of hours (in a plastic bag), and then scrubbed with a toothbrush, Comet and hot water. I can't guarantee it will work on yours.
Fabrux Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I have encountered yellowish glue on old built-ups before and usually it will flake off if you start cutting at it with a knife. YMMV.
