Don Sikora II Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Gunze Sangyo made a 1/24-scale 928/928S kit hat had full engine detail too. The doors and hatch open on it too. It also came in a Testors box at one point.
larrygre Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Anybody know the story on this one? That one stared life with now-defunct Nitto Kagaku. Kit has a faux engine insert with incorrect intake runners. ESCI bought the molds for Nitto's 1/24 kits when Nitto went belly up, and when ERTL bought ESCI, some of the ex-Nitto kits found their way into AMT boxes.. Not a bad kit, but typical mid-70s Japanese production. Fujimi's is much better.
dantewallace Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Have I stumbled upon a thread of fellow Porschephiles? lol This is a little off the OP's topic but I wanted opinions from some of the Porsche builders here. With so many Porsche kits available how do you guys know what companies to trust in terms of detail and build quality? I have always been partial to Fujimi and the old Testors Porsche kits. Is there a place where I can purchase small Porsche parts like mirrors and wipers? Almost every opened kit that I have purchased has these missing and I'd hate to have to buy two of the same kit to complete one car.
