I've been looking almost all day today for a 78 Pontiac Catalina . Anyone know if one has ever been cast ? I'd even settle for a diecast in 1/25 1/24 scale. I've never seen one, but if anyone has, please let me know. Thanks, Dave.

Dave, you're SOL on a 78 Catalina, plastic, resin or die cast in 1/25. The only close one I know of is the resin NEO American Excellence Bonneville in 1/43.

The only place to start would be the Modelhaus mid-eighties Impala four door. 77-90 full size Chevy's and Pontiac's shared a lot of the same sheet metal, chassis, engines etc... It would take some significant conversion work to the front and rear styling but it could be done.

Thanks Tom and Steve. I was afraid this would be my answer. The reason for looking was a build I'm going to do for a friend of my father, who is getting close to retirement from the Butler County Sheriff's Office. The St. Regis was his first patrol car. I'm thinking I will settle for the 78 Monaco, in BC's marking's for that year. Thanks again.
