Hi Guys,

First post and my first build in about 12 years. I took a dremel to the front suspension to get a nice tuck i also painted the stock rims it came with black leaving the polish lips. Im not sure what color i want to paint the body but Im thinking matte gray.

You're off to a great start Jay ! Good choice in painting the wheels black , all that chrome is a bit much on a car this size . They look much better with just a chrome trim ring , and you've got the stance perfect !

The chassis looks really good , very clean and nicely painted . The engine compartment looks good too , if you use a semi-gloss or flat black it will help make the engine and other details stand out .

I really like what you've done so far , keep us updated !

Great attention to details in paint and assembly. This is way better than any first build I ever did either as a kid or adult. You can really make your next build pop by paying more attention ant time to prep. Test fit all of your parts and sand or file down the seams when they show. A lot of us will even add a bit of Bondo to those lines before paint or even primer to make them go away. I will do a test shot of white or aluminum paint over seams to see if they are blended out or not. It really helps.

Keep up the good work and show us your next build. Post it in the Workbench thread so we can watch you build. That's always fun.

If I may make a suggestion, sand the seam on the engine.

Might be an issue now that it's painted and glued in place, but I do agree... Same with the seam on top of the radiator, also common in most kits...

Definitely something to keep in mind for future builds. Lots of people tend to overlook this... ;)

Looks great, otherwise, and I was going to say... This can't be your first kit ever! :P

That's looking great so far. If you go with the gray and are cheep like me, I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and saw they had some great gun mettle greys or some metallic grays and silvers in the regular paint department cheep and in the big cans if you use rattle can, It looked something like these.
