Ramfins59 Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 OK, prepare yourselves because this is NOT a pretty sight. Apparently The Modelhaus changed their resin formula, and now Scalecoat is NOT safe to use as a paint stripper on their products. Had I read that fact on their FAQ list, I would not have used Scalecoat... but, I didn't, and I suffered the consequences... Live and learn right..?? Here's what the body looks like now... I have a replacement body on order from Modelhaus along with some other parts..
Tom Geiger Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Sorry to see that Rich! Maybe Manny could do something with that body?
Porscheman Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 That's terrible!!! I'll have to read the FAQ from now on.
Ramfins59 Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 Sorry to see that Rich! Maybe Manny could do something with that body? You know Tom, I was wondering the exact same thing. If anyone could put this now junk body to good use, it would be him, in his junkyard. I'll have to PM him these pictures and ask him. I owe him anyway for the help & stuff he gave me when I was working on the '57 Ford diecast wagon.
Ramfins59 Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 So now I am impatiently waiting for my replacement body to arrive from The Modelhaus. It was shipped 2 days ago along with replacement parts for 3 Promo's that I picked up at the NNL East Show. I can't wait to get the stuff because I really haven't touched any models since the Olds body meltdown. I've been on "modeling vacation" for too long now, and that, along with the Forum being down for a couple of weeks has really been a bummer. I'm really looking forward to getting "back to normal" again.

I got to the point with the '51 Chevy Wanderer that I needed some accessories, namely a propane tank. I ordered a bunch of stuff from Escorts Resin and got it today. Really good service from a guy who was in constant email contact and delivered the order within 2 weeks. So the stuff is soaking in Wesleys tonight and I'll rinse it in the morning and I'm good to go. Looking forward to seeing progress on the '58s!
