Scalper Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 Thanks Chris.. Might cut the spindle in the front and repostion. if I mess up I have an extra one from the gn. Thanks.
Christopher J Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 The build is looking nice so far. Great job on getting that black to lay down so smooth. If I may ask, what are your plans for the GN, even if you have to "borrow" it's front suspension? If it needs a good home, let me know, I'd be willing to "adopt" for a fair price.
Christopher J Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 BTW, I've got the Monte kit too and I planned on cutting the mounting points for the tires and locating new ones further up to correct the ride height/stance.
Scalper Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 Hey Cristopher well the GN the body is very warped. broke my heart when I opened it back in the late 90's ... So its pretty much scrap to me. yeah the paint went on ok.. there is a few spots. painted outside. but hopefully my buddy wont really notice when I hand over the keys. lol
ModlerChris1987 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 You could get the front clip off on the gn and mold it into the Carlo but that's just an idea
Christopher J Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Sad news on the warped body. At the least it gives you stuff for the parts box minus body.
Scalper Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 Engine now in her new home. Sitting in the original engine mounts. will put the electric fan to the front of the rad. and Will join the stock exhaust to the v6 exhaust. its almost perfect as is. just got to blend the two. Thanks for looking.
Scalper Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Well I just took the rear and apart. Going to need to jack her up. It was the back end that was sitting way to low. front end still a bit higher then what I would like, But it will be ok.
Scalper Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Updated back end pics. gave the back end a boost .. Thanks for looking
Scalper Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Looking foward to getting home and do a mock up to check the new stance. I hope it will be good and not to high in the back.
Scalper Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Hello .. Well I went to my buddy's house that I am building the model for and showed him these wheels. Looks like these will be the ones. test look Tell me what you think. Thanks.
jrherald420 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 If those are the wheels that will be on the car, the front needs to be lowered to look right. The rears sit just right.
Dragfreak Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Looks sweet but IMO I think the rears just aren't deep enough. if you have some chrome wheel backs put them in front of the rear wheels to make them deeper.
Scalper Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Thanks guys, Yeah the wheels and tires are from the 68 revell dart. in regards to the fron end I stared at it for hours trying to figure out how to lower it. and I am stuck. seems like there is really no way of lowering it. any sudgestions? thanks Andre
Dragfreak Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) I'm not familiar with that kit but does it have little stubs that hold the wheel on that stick out? its hard to explain so does it look like this? if so cut the little stub off and move it up and reglue it. you can see in the pic that I cut it off and moved it up. Edited June 21, 2013 by Dragfreak
Scalper Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Yes there is a wheel nub. but not much room to move it.. I have an extra one from the GN I may tray it on it see if it works. I even jacked the rear end about 5 to 6 scale inches to see if that would help. but still high in the front. kinda makes it look like its taking off with the rear setting down.
Scalper Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 Some Updates . Happy to be back posting in the best web site. Thanks for looking.
