Matt T.
I used the buffing Metalizer from a spray can over bare plastic. Tried soaking in CSC for 3 days - parts are now gray/black and tacky but won't scrub clean. 91% alcohol maybe? Easy Off? Thanks!
ScaleDale
I was able to get very dry lacquer off a model with that hardware grade alcohol. Got it in the paint section of Lowes. I knew it was good from all the warnings on the can. BTW, DO wear gloves and a mask and keep away from flame. It will freeze your fingers off, too.Great stuff. sak
How to remove metalizer? Touch it.
Blown03SVT
How to remove metalizer? Touch it. funny but true. Seriously being a laquer base I would think the cheapo 91% alcohol from the drug store would work fine, as would easy off
VW Dave
If it's lacquer, 91% oughta do the trick; I've had good luck stripping Tamiya spray with it as of late
Matt T.
Thanks guys! I'll have to pick up some 91% soon. Yes, the Buffing Metalizer in the spray can is lacquer. Sak - I've read that the bottle metalizers can be fragile, but this buffing spray can be polished with a cotton cloth and won't budge. Heck, CSC barely dented it! Edited June 14, 2013 by Matt T.
