ohioelcamino Posted June 15, 2013 Share Posted June 15, 2013 hello all im am new to the model scene, being that i havent put one together in over 30 yrs. i do alot of wood carving also and i have tons of paints i use on my carvings, these paints are acrylic enamel. my question is can they be used on a model. thought i would ask before i tried it. i dont plan on using it on the body but thought i would use it for interior and such. thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Chillyb1 Posted June 15, 2013 Share Posted June 15, 2013 These paints are acrylic enamel. The term is imprecise. Or at least confusing. What most car modelers mean by acrylic is not the same as what most manufacturers mean by acrylic enamel. I've found most paints described as acrylic enamel to be very hot and often dangerous to plastic. Maybe more information as to brand and conveyance might help answer your questions.
