I got to thinking................what would have the 57 chevy looked like if GM went to the wide bodies in 57 instead of 59.............I have a perfect victim for this project. A

glue bomb that needed so much I was willing to cut it up,,,,,we have sectioned, channeled, stretchered, and chopped this one....now to stretch it side to side and add 8

inches to the width of this car....first pictures show before the cutting torch attacked the body.

I am torn on making this bone stock,,,,,,,,or going all out with a corvette (55) grill and packard tail lights....I am missing a lot of chrome so would need a chrome tree to make it stock................(hint hint) -_-

thanks for the comments,,,you want more,,,it is... I added small strips to each side of the frame instead of dicing it.....i added longer axles and will just move the wheels out 1/8" on each side....I have not done a lot to the frame

forgot I had a chrome tree for a 57 :rolleyes: time to slice and dice the bumpers. the bumpers are far from smooth so an trying to fix that too.nothing was needed to get the grill to work

I have been unable to do any painting of finish work on my builds because of high humidity fogging my paint....so just continuing on this and another.

Nothing is every new,,,,,but in the Boyd tradition he started with a 59 and with the use of some re-pops and hand forming all the remaining parts to come up with the final product....................his is by far a better rendition tho and very stylized where as I am still heading to make it authentic to the 57 product......................thank you for the input,,,it always helps to get further details of others work in the same category :rolleyes:
