With a college deferment still in my pocket I enlisted in the Marines for 2 years. That gave me a 99% guarantee of going to Vietnam - not because of the Domino Theory or any other political reasons. From my high school class of 1966, there were 7 friends killed in Vietnam by June 1968. Some of them I knew from kindegarden and I just wanted revenge for their deaths. Pretty dumb, huh?
