Seattle Mike Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Well, I've done it! I escaped Michigan. After 14+ months of unemployment I've had enough. The Flint area is a cesspool, and shows no signs of rebounding, so it was time to go. I packed up a truck with most of my kits ( the rest will come out in June ), my workbench and a few clothes and headed west. It was a long, but interesting trip. With the exception of a little rain in northern Wyoming, and some heavy fog west of Billings, MT, I had perfect traveling weather. I got to spend the night in Billings at Terry Jessee's house, which was really nice. I hadn't seen Terry and Cynthia for a long time, and I wish we had more time when I was there. Hopefully now that I'm on the west side of the country I will have a chance to see them more often. While I'm settling in here now, my wife and daughter are still in Michigan until June. My daughter is a senior in high school, and wants to graduate with her friends. Once she does that I get to do the second half of the move to get them out here. Then I can really start to enjoy the Seattle area. Until then, I guess I'll finish setting up my model bench and start building something - hmmm, isn't NNL West coming up soon?
