KingSix Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Went and checked out this beauty today. Was imported 11 years ago and been sitting ever since. A client of mine is negotiating the purchase of it, and with any luck he'll get it. Which means it will become my next 1:1 project. I couldn't be happier. I've always loved this car and I'm very excited to possibly have the opportunity to build one. Time will tell ..
KingSix Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 a Ford Falcon XB, the car From the 1st 2 Road Warrior movies ? I thought everyone knew this car ?
Shardik Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) We just didn't recognize it without the 20 gal. fuel drums in the back and the nonfunctional blower sticking through the hood. Sounds like you're gonna have some fun, though. Edited September 28, 2013 by Shardik
Daddyfink Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Good thing most of the body kit is on it! That is one of the hard to find items these days, unless you pay big bucks for a repro one. Just the fact that one of these cars is just laying around is pretty amazing. They are not easy to find. Good Luck!

KingSix Posted September 28, 2013 Author Posted September 28, 2013 Unfortunately the car was butchered. The body kit was installed incorrectly and is busting out at the seams. I'm fairly certain the parts can be saved, but I wouldn't know for sure until they're off the car. The story on it was, the current owner bought the car without ever seeing it. Commissioned a shop in Australia that was recommended by the company he bought it from in Australia http://www.aussiecoupes.com/index.html . Apparently the body shop doing the work overshot the scheduled completion date by more than a year, the owner lost interest in the car, had it pulled from the shop and shipped to the US. All said and done he's got 30k into it at this point ( initial purchase, shop time, shipping, taxes etc etc ).

Harry P. Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Huh, I thought every car guy had seen the Mad Max movies .. the first 2 are great ... See what happens when you assume? Cars are just one of my interests, but not the only one. In fact, not even the main one. And I don't watch "car movies." Not that there's anything wrong with that... they just don't interest me, so I had no idea what that car is.
