The Moparian
I've got a question and any information would help. I painted a camaro, cleared it and polished it a few months ago. Afterward, I realized I wanted to add decals. If I lay decals down, can I still put clear coat down or will it react bad with the Pre-existing polish? Jantrix
Most polishes don't leave a residue in my experience, it's not a wax. Best way to find out though is to experiment on a painted plastic spoon.
LoneWolf15
You can lay the decals down , but you can't clear over them with the polish on it . More often than not , your clear would fish eye as soon as it meets the polished surface .
The Moparian
That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, not the end of the world.
Blown03SVT
As a automotive detailer a polish and a wax/ sealant are two different things. However many polishes have oils in them to lubricate while the abrasive is cutting. You best bet would be to wash the body in a strong solution of dawn to ensure the oils have been removed as well as any residue. Rob called it, try it on a spoon, this while mitigate a potential trip to the purple pond.
The Moparian
OK I'll have to try it. Quick question, when polishing, I got white dried polish in little corners and crevices. Any ideas for cleaning it up?
