tbill Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 so, when doing a two tone, after it's all masked and painted, can ya throw it in the dehydrator with the tape still on? or will this cause tape removal issues? just wondering if it'll dry out the tape and cause it to pull the underlying paint off with it when removed? silly question number 300, but i'd rather ask, than try it and have to re-do another paint job...... p.s. using Tamiya tape [thin] and frog tape for delicate surfaces [wide].
Swamp Dog Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 NO..IT WILL BAKE THE TAPE ON...THEN YOU ARE SCREEEEEDDDDD...
tbill Posted October 19, 2013 Author Posted October 19, 2013 that's what I was thinking. so, question 301, how long should I wait to un-mask? and should I scribe the tape/paint line to keep from lifting paint? not scribe really, just break the paint from the tape.
Mike Kucaba Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 You pull the tape back against it self on an angle as soon as you can.
