Edsel-Dan Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Most likely too brittle. They Should be able to list them as an Adult Classic Collectible item to get past the wire problem
Greg Myers Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 (edited) yeah, makes sense, wire being as expensive as it is nowa days. Must be why we no longer have those sturdy metal axles in model cars too. Edited April 25, 2015 by Greg Myers
Snake45 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 yeah, makes sense, wire being as expensive as it is nowa days. Must be why we no longer have those sturdy metal axles in model cars too. It's not the wire itself, it's the forming of the special bends in it--or whatever. As I said, this is just rumor--talk over in Model Airplane World. I wish they'd reissue that set. I'd love to have one.
Greg Myers Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 Me too, I was just kidding on the wire.
Nova-ss Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Back in the day,I did what the rest of you did.I never saw two dollor kits, but I remember working for older ladies and men in the neighborhood , take what I earned,go to Grand Central buy a 2.99 car or 4.99 truck kit.go home, into my building room...basement and start it .one week later I was done..and loved it.I never thought of any mistakes I made back then..it was just a blast back then..it still is but can be difficult now.it was great back then.
