Ridgeback Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 (edited) I brought the Italeri truck accessories set no 720,for my GMC pick up snow plow project and after opening the box, realized that the figures were different to the box art. the driver figure has sun glasses, one of the standing figures has a baseball cap, whereas on the box, the figures are not wearing these. Did they make two different sets, or is this a case of pre issue artwork not being updated? Not fussed, just curious Edited November 9, 2013 by Ridgeback
pharoah Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 That's different than the one I had. Never seen that artwork. Reminds me of this video. LOL http://youtu.be/64mHQc_hdeY
Edsel-Dan Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 (edited) If you look closely, You can see the Heavy-set Standing guy Does look to have glasses on! Cowboy Hat & denim vest. yes would be nice if they were separate, but would have to be wire you form, or photo-etch in this scale!! And, Is the baseball cap shown on the box somewhere else?? Edited November 9, 2013 by Edsel-Dan
Ridgeback Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 No, doesn't show the baseball cap anywhere. My bad, didn't see the sunglasses on the guy with the beard, but the driver figure has a flat top hair cut and he also has sun glasses. the clothes are different on two of the figures too and they are both wearing sandals, which kind of messes with the snow plow thing, unless they are particularly hard core
redneckrodder Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Look close but the guy wearing red pants has sandals on
scale trucker Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 there are 4 different sets 2 have people the others dont
Ridgeback Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Cheers Gordon. That clears it up. I paid £17 for the set, which is pretty good considering the amount of kit you get in the box.
ZIL 111V Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Remember got The very 1st Italeri "accessories set"(764) with 2 figures only, back in 1984, was issued circa 1983.The later 720 set (with 3 figures), was mostly different but kept a few parts from 1st edition.
scale trucker Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 you are correct, and at 17 dollars that was cheap..
Edsel-Dan Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I think he said 17 "POUNDS" Not Dollars. He Is in England, and they do not use Dollars!
Ridgeback Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Probably doesn't seem much of a bargain in Dollars, but we get charged through the nose for everything over here. An average AMT car kit is $40 - $50 and a truck kit $90 - $100 Don't even get me started on the price of petrol....
scale trucker Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 holy f bomb that is nuts..i have a friend that lives here from england and he brought me back a few truck kits on the cheap..
Ridgeback Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Cheapest truck kit in my local model shop is £45 ($72) And that is the Revell Australian rig, which is on special offer. You can get them cheaper on line, but then they kill it with outragous postage costs. I thought I had a good deal on a Kenworth on Amazon, at £27. Then I looked at the postage - £18.50. It's the kind of stunt that gets pulled on e bay too. Sell it cheap and charge hugely for P&P
