om617 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Perfect 53 One of very few cars i think look better as convertible over solid roof.
Ramfins59 Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Thanks very much Mike & Tommy. I like convertibles a lot because the interiors show a lot better.
bbowser Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Great score, and great job Rich. I like it a lot!
Ramfins59 Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 Thanks a lot Bruce. It's not too often that I score a cheap deal like this one, but I keep looking for them.
Grumpa Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Wow! I don't know how I missed this Rich, but it is a beauty! What a boat! Very nice!
Greg Cullinan Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Beautiful Caddy. All of your class of 53s are amazing. Is there a story behind the class and will we have the pleasure of seeing em all together?
Ramfins59 Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) Thank you very much Mark and Greg. Greg, I am attempting to do a "Class of" build for every car that I can find for every year of the 1950's. I'm using either plastic kits, promo's, resin or diecast kits. I know that it is an ambitious project and will take me awhile to complete, but I'm enjoying the heck out of doing it so far. I love all the cars from the 50's and how the styles changed from year to year. Plus they had all that chrome...!!! I will eventually be posting group pictures for each "Class" as I get enough of each year's cars completed. Here's how the tally adds up at the moment; 1950 - 0 built. 1951 - 1 built 1952 - 0 built 1953 - 3 built 1954 - 0 built 1955 - 2 built 1956 - 6 built 1957 - 1 built 1958 - 9 built 1959 - 3 built I have 17 more for those years in my "pile" yet to build and A LOT more still to buy and build.... and this doesn't include Corvettes and Thunderbirds...!!! As you can see, I'll be busy for awhile working on this extensive project. Edited November 22, 2013 by Ramfins59
Greg Cullinan Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Richard,I'd say you put a nice dent in it so far. It's a awesome idea, definitively the golden era of automobiles. I always come up with similar ideas to try and build groups but I never commit.
Ramfins59 Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 Thanks Greg. Yeah, after I had built 3 of the cars from 1958 I decided that I would try to build as many of the 58's as I could. Then it progressed to other 50's years cars until I committed to try to build them all.
Skydime Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Cool Caddy! Sitting there all black, it reminds me of the hearse in the movie Dead Silence.
Silver Foxx Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Looks real nice , the red / black combo is so classy looking.
